Mental health issues affect about 84 million people across the EU. Refugees and migrants are particularly at risk of developing such problems due to stressors related to their migration process. However, they can also have great difficulties in accessing mental healthcare services, particularly when they do not speak the dominant language of their host country. Similarly, providing appropriate care can be more difficult when you do not speak the same language.
The MentalHealth4All project tries to resolve these issues. Together with nine European countries, this digital, multilingual platform was developed. The platform aims to reduce the negative impact of linguistic and cultural barriers on providing mental healthcare for migrants and refugees. In this webinar, we introduce its key features and explain how you can integrate it in your daily work as a mental healthcare provider.
The MHealth4All symposium aims to gather researchers, practitioners, and policymakers for an exchange of ideas and solutions as well as to answer fundamental questions on mental healthcare accessibility. The goal is to make a step further into achieving mental healthcare for all, breaking linguistic and cultural barriers that hinder migrants and refugees' access to this type of care.
