The Symposium

The Symposium on Health, Ethics, Law and Technology (HELT) is an annual, multidisciplinary event offering a unique platform for insightful and stimulating exchanges on the latest trends and future of health and technology under the prism of legislation, regulatory frameworks and relevant policy initiatives at EU and national level. The HELT symposium brings together representatives from the academia, industry, research organisations, healthcare professionals and policymakers.

The HELT Symposium is organised and hosted by VUB’s Health & Ageing Law Lab (HALL), a dynamic research group examining legal and regulatory frameworks on data protection and the rights of data subjects in healthcare contexts, analysing policies and current trends in health data governance, and exploring legal and ethical dimensions in the use of advanced technologies and AI-enhanced interventions for patients and elderly care.
