The VUB Foundation invites you to a guided tour of the iconic Braem Building
‘The Cigar,’ ‘the Caprice des Dieux,’ ‘Building M,’ or simply ‘den Braem’: over the past half-century, the iconic VUB rectorate building has earned a whole series of nicknames. Discover how modernist architect Renaat Braem came up with the striking elliptical design, step under the sculptural canopy into the colorful entrance hall, climb the winding elliptical staircase, and follow the surprising murals – which, thanks to your support, have been restored to their full glory. Thank you for this!

Several guided tours start between 9:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Each tour lasts one and a half hours and is conducted in Dutch. At 3:00 p.m. we will organize a tour in English. Please select your preferred time slot when registering.

Before your visit, we warmly welcome you with a drink and a snack in the reception area on the first floor.
Seats are limited. Each person must register individually.
