On Wednesday 14 May, from 11:00 to 13:00, the official opening of the Learning & Innovation Center (LIC) will take place — a new milestone in the collaboration between the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the Université libre de Bruxelles.
You are cordially invited to attend the opening ceremony of this vibrant, multifunctional center, which has been built on the very spot where a ridge once obstructed passage between the campuses of the sister universities.
The sustainable Learning & Innovation Center offers students and staff from both universities an inspiring environment, featuring:
- a Learning Café
- individual study spaces
- group work rooms
- meeting rooms
- classrooms
- and a library focused on Science and Engineering.
During the ceremony, the rectors of VUB and ULB, together with Minister of the Interior Bernard Quintin, will share the vision and realization of this innovative project.
At 11:30, guided tours for the press and invited guests will begin, led by representatives of the design and planning firms involved in the project.
Members of the press will have ample opportunity to interview the rectors, the minister, and Peter Verbist, Director of the University Library and Learning & Innovation Center.
The ceremony will be followed by a reception.
