FAQ

FAQ
Do I need to bring anything to the Open Course Days?

Be sure to bring a pen and paper! This will allow you to practise taking good notes. If you're attending an open class for the 'Revalidatiewetenschappen en Kinesitherapie' or 'Lichamelijke Opvoeding en Bewegingswetenschappen' programmes, you'll need specific sportswear. Make sure to check the additional information provided for these sessions.

What if a class is marked as 'sold out'?

You can always sign up for the waiting list. In the meantime, feel free to register for another class, even if it’s not a class from a programme you wish to follow in the future. This way, you can still get to know the VUB campus, experience university-style teaching, and meet some of our lecturers.

Are the classes not too difficult?
Some of the classes during the Open Course Days build on material from previous years, so it’s perfectly normal if you don’t understand everything. Don’t let this discourage you! The main goal is to give you an idea of what the lessons and campus life are like.
What if the professor is late?

Ever heard of the academic quarter? This is the 15-minute period after the scheduled start of the class, often observed by lecturers and professors. So, if the professor is a few minutes late, don’t worry! They could still be on their way. Other students should already be present as well. If no one turns up, head back to the information desk where you registered, and they’ll help you figure out what’s going on.

Do you have any questions about a specific course or about VUB in general?

Be sure to attend one of our Open Days! Professors and students will be available to answer all your questions. The Open Days will be held on the following dates: Sunday 16th March 2025, Sunday 27th April 2025, and Sunday 31st August 2025. You can find more information here.
