Can't wait for the next information day to discover our campuses inside and out? After the general tour of the campus, would you like to visit some well-known and lesser-known places on the Main Campus in Etterbeek or the Health Campus in Jette?

Take a 360° virtual look at our VUB campuses in Etterbeek, Jette and Gooik:

Main Campus Etterbeek:

  • The Braem building, also known as 'de M'. The rectorate building of the VUB is the remarkable work of the Antwerp modernist architect Renaat Braem (1910 – 2001). Since 1976, the protected monument has symbolized the idiosyncratic philosophy of the VUB. The 'Cigar' represents the VUB as an open and tolerant university, with free research as its basic principle.
  • The Thinker: The red figure that adorns the university campus is a full-size reproduction of Auguste Rodin's 1880 bronze The Thinker, a Western symbol of reason. The emergence of dogmatism, fundamentalism, nuclear weapons and concentration camps, among others, have in the meantime demonstrated the dangers of unbounded rationalism. With the weather vane that Willy Vandendorpe added to his own thinker, he criticizes the possible manipulations of rational thinking.
  • Our Amphitheatre
  • The Esplanade in Etterbeek, There is a lot of passage on the VUB Main Campus in Etterbeek. So you are really in the spotlight.
  • The information point in building D: As a (new) student you have a lot of options, but you also have a lot of questions. Infopunt Studenten is there to answer your questions. Attention: Info point is NOT open on the info day
  • The promotion hall in building D, l is extremely suitable for holding doctoral defenses, lectures, conferences or debates.
  • Auditorium Q: Nelson Mandela received his honorary doctorate there, the young Elvis Costello played like a charm, Hugo Claus thrilled a packed room. The revolutionary rotating system with which four auditoriums can be transformed into one large super auditorium in the blink of an eye is also unique in Europe.
