FAQ
How can I modify/cancel my registration(s)?

How can I modify/cancel my registration(s)? In your confirmation email you will find a link to modify or cancel your registration. If you cannot find the email, try registering again with your VUB email address to receive a modification link.

I have previously registered for a workshop and now want to register again for a new one, but I get an error message. What should I do?

This registration module works based on your email address. So, if you have already registered once with this email address, the system will tell you that you already exist.

What to do:

  1. You enter your email address as usual.

  1. A popup will now appear telling you that you already exist. Choose the option 'send modification link'.

  1. In your mailbox you will now receive an email from the system with a link

  1. If you click on that link, it will take you to your already created profile and you can register for a new group session.

How much does it cost to participate in a group session?

Nothing! The entire range of group sessions within Study Guidance is free for all VUB students.

Where do the group sessions take place?

The group sessions are organised on the Etterbeek campus, Jette campus and online. When you register, you can choose where you want to follow group sessions. You will find out the specific location in your confirmation email that you will receive after registration; a room number for an on-campus group session and a Microsoft Teams link for an online group session.

Who can participate in the group sessions?

All VUB students who are enrolled in a bachelor programme, master programme, bridging programme, preparatory programme, credit contract, micro-credentials programme or advanced master (without pay) can register for our group sessions.

Are you a PhD student? Then you can take a look at the group offer on your WeAreVUB portal or call on the well-being offer for staff.

How many group sessions can I participate in?

You can participate in as many group sessions as you want. We do recommend that you only register for the group sessions that you think are useful for yourself. In addition, we ask you to only register for the group sessions you will attend. So, make sure you have a balanced and realistic schedule.

Exception: you can only register for one training at the time per semester (one training consists of multiple, consecutive sessions).

When do the group sessions take place?

Study Guidance offers group sessions throughout the academic year; so during semester 1, semester 2 and in the summer period. By registering you can see which group sessions are currently offered. Our calendar is updated at the start of each semester and at the beginning of the summer period.

Are the group sessions interactive?

In each group session there is a bit of theory as well as a bit of exercises. Each lecturer provides sufficient Q&A moments. Depending on the group session, there is more or less room for interaction and sharing experiences. In online group sessions, we always ask all participants to turn on their video camera to promote interaction and a confidential atmosphere.

Are the group sessions confidential?

Our student psychologists are bound by professional secrecy. This means that they are not allowed to pass on information about you to others unless they have your explicit consent. You can read more about our code of ethics here. We also ask all fellow students not to record the workshop, so that we can create a confidential environment in which participants feel safe to ask questions and share experiences.

I want to get started now! What can I do in the meantime?

Study Guidance has ensured that every student has 24/7 access to online self-help materials. This way you can get started yourself while waiting to participate in your group session! Take a look at  our self-help modules on Canvas or at our Infographics full of tips & tricks
