How to reach the U-Residence at the VUB Main Campus in Ixelles/Etterbeek?
The U-Residence is located at Generaal Jacqueslaan 271, 1050 Brussels, and is part of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) Main Campus. It is easily accessible by public transport. We recommend using one of the following options:
-
By train: The U-Residence is situated close to the Etterbeek train station, which provides convenient connections from Brussels-Centre, Brussels Airport, and all major train stations in Belgium. For a detailed timetable, please visit the NMBS website.
-
By metro: Metro line 5 runs from Brussels Centre, including from Brussels Central and Brussels Schuman train stations. Get off at Pétillon metro station and plan your journey on the STIB-MIVB website.
-
By tram: Tram lines 7 and 25 both pass near the U-Residence. You can get off at tram station VUB or Etterbeek Station. Plan your tram ride via the STIB-MIVB website.
-
By bus: Several buses stop near the U-Residence, including lines 34, 36, 61, 95, and 348. You can check your route on the STIB-MIVB website.
-
By car: If you come by car, you have free access to the VUB campus and parking for the duration of the event. However, you must first register your vehicle’s license plate in our system via this special link (insert iVisit link here). Upon successful registration, you will receive a confirmation email with more details about parking regulations.
On the day of the event, we recommend using ENTRY (fill in) for the most convenient access to the U-Residence. Due to the layout of the campus, driving from one side to the other is not possible, so this specific entrance is advised. Upon arrival, drive up to the barrier, where the cameras will detect your license plate and grant you access. The same procedure applies when leaving the campus.
Important: Access to the campus is only valid until 23:59 on the event day. This registration does not allow access on other days or for long-term parking after the event.
